Ron Turcotte on Suchiu’s Secretariat
Personally hand-signed by Ron Turcotte, Suchiu’s Secretariat original painting and limited edition print series tributes the talented jockey and the horse he raced into international fame in 1973, becoming the first Triple Crown Winner in 25 years.
Not only were Ron Turcotte and Secretariat the first to win the Triple Crown in a quarter of a century, but the win was also honoured as the first consecutively achieved with the same horse and jockey team.
Suchiu’s photorealism depicts Secretariat’s detailed bone and muscle structure in exquisite accuracy, admired by Turcotte as he remarks that it makes the horse easily recognizable. To capture the excitement of the Triple Crown race, the artist achieves animation by employing elongated brush strokes to portray the horse’s speed in a blurred background.
Ron Turcotte has personally hand-signed every limited edition print in the highly restricted Secretariat production series. The limited edition prints as well as the original painting are currently available for sale.
