“SUNDAY MORNING WILLOW HUNT”

Four generations of one of Essex County’s most beloved family, the Colasantis are shown in this print: Alex, Joe, Terry, and Candice.

Grandpa Alex is a favorite grandfather adopted into the hearts of the many visitors who come each year to Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens, owned by the Colasanti family. To visit the Colosanti’s greenhouses is to enter into the hospitality of their home. Grandpa Alex is an institution at age 92 at this writing, entertaining old and new friends while playing on his harmonica, creating baskets from willow branches and recounting stories of “the good old days”.

Ronald Suchiu, as a “new son” of the Colasanti family is honored to portray this warm, rural family scene gathering willow branches for Grandpa Alex.
