From 1898 until the closure of Boblo Amusement Park in 1993, the boats—Ste. Claire, Columbia, and the smaller Papoose—were the lifeblood of travel to and from the amusement park. These sketches serve as a nostalgic tribute to an era many will never forget.
The larger ferries, Ste. Claire and Columbia, sailed daily from downtown Detroit, while the Papoose offered a quick crossing from Amherstburg, Ontario.
