Painted with iconic bassist Prakash John, Suchiu’s Synergy #2 “True North” is the second painting and limited edition print series of the new art form in which he uncovers the unrealized talents of celebrities challenged to take on the brush.
Canadian musician Prakash John is positioned among the world’s most renowned bassists, whose undeniable talent is found recording and performing in Hollywood movies and many of the most elite rock sensations from a seven year touring stint with Alice Cooper to Lou Reed.
While creating Synergy #2 “True North”, Prakash John had vocalized what the painting expected of him, spiritually-compelled to express a piece of Canadiana history by “its true residents”: the indigenous.
Prakash’s vision to acknowledge and appreciate Canada’s pre-confederate history is tastefully brought to life under Suchiu’s brush and scrutiny, materialized in the unique shapes of the maple leaf and an eagle’s head hidden in wide, silky brush strokes meant to personify the sounds of the bass and the northern lights.
The storied providence of Synergy #2 “True North” began with its creation which extended over the course of several weeks and in two separate locations: Suchiu’s studio and Prakash John’s home.
Suchiu and Prakash John’s Synergy #2 “True North” pays homage to First Nations as much as it pays tribute to the rock n’ roll counterculture, bringing two distant worlds together on common ground: not fitting into society’s mold, either by preceding it or breaking it.
Synergy #2 limited edition prints and the original painting are currently available for sale.
