Painted at the Aykroyd home on the very same workstation table Dan Aykroyd wrote Ghostbusters, the star actor, musician, and comedian touched brush to canvas and began his first painting. And, in doing so aided in creating the brand new art form – Synergy, a series invented by Suchiu that would give multi-talented celebrities the opportunity to show another side of their spirit and being.
Synergy happens in 3 steps:
Step 1: The collaborator or Synergy partner chooses their favourite color.
Step 2: Suchiu prompts the collaborator to paint whatever comes to mind on canvas – “Don’t think twice – whatever you paint, will turn into art.”
Step 3: Suchiu studies the textures, shapes, and strokes on the canvas and finds the many spirits of the Synergy within, pulling it out with his fine-toothed brush to create a world-class work of art.
Synergy #1 is the ‘firstborn’ of a new generation of art, and a collaboration between the actor, producer, blues music legend Dan Aykroyd and internationally renowned celebrity artist Suchiu.
Synergy #1 features various elements symbolic of Aykroyd’s life and legacy: a reflective skull tributing Aykroyd’s spirit line Skull Vodka, a stained glass half-moon window from Aykroyd’s cabin, a wizard still hidden in the image teases out Suchiu’s own legacy as the Wizard of Art and more.
